Men’s Basketball: Career Night for Sittner in Win

Garrett Sittner (pictured) scored a career-high 26 points to lead the Central Community College men's basketball team to an 89-81 win over Southeast Community College at Raider Fieldhouse on Friday night.

The contest was back-and-forth early on before the Raiders put together a late run before halftime. Sittner's three-point bucket put CCC up 41-32 at the half. The Raiders built a 14-point lead in the second half before the Storm put together a big push of their own and eventually went up 72-71. However, CCC responded by holding SCC to 10 points the rest of the way.

"Both teams played hard and with great intensity," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "I was really proud that after giving up the lead, we circled the wagons and fought back. We played very well on the defensive end and did a nice job ending the game on a run. I'm very proud of Garrett on having a career night. He played extremely well."

Malik Mooving scored 25 points, while Latrell Talley finished the night with 17 points.

With the win, the Raiders are now 10-12 on the season, having won three out of the last four.

On Tuesday night, CCC will entertain Iowa Western Community College at Raider Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The Reivers are 20-5 following a 91-88 victory over Northeast Community College on Saturday at Reiver Arena.
