Knights Make It a Long Night for Raiders

Five North Platte Community College players scored in double figures in an 80-60 win over Central Community College. The loss is the fourth consecutive loss for the Raiders, while the Knights snapped a two-game slide.

CCC was without starting guard Logan Fleming, who sat out his second straight game due to the flu. Center Ruben Fuamba started the game but left after scoring only six points when he twisted his ankle.

The Raiders and the Knights played evenly throughout the first half and at the break, NPCC led 36-30. The second half was a different story as the Knights outscored the Raiders, 44-30. In the rebounding column, NPCC bested CCC, 36-24.

"North Platte is a well-coached team," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "I thought we did a good job hanging in there without Logan, but once Ruben got hurt, we just couldn't contain them."

Jerome Dixon was the only CCC player in double figures as he finished with a game-high 28-points.

"Jerome played his best game of the second semester, but we didn't have enough offensive fire power to win the game," said Drymon.

Diontae Champion led the charge for the Knights with 19 points.

The Raiders are now 15-13 on the season and will next face Little Priest Tribal College on Tuesday. CCC opened February with a 100-89 win over LPTC in Wahoo. Tuesday night's tip-off between the Raiders and the Warriors is set for 7:30 p.m. at Raider Fieldhouse.
