Central Community College esports is pleased to announce the signing of Ian Hughes to play League of Legends for the fall 2023 and spring 2024 seasons.

A 2023 graduate of Amherst Public School, Hughes (pictured left) won the 2023 League of Legends championship of the Nebraska Schools eSports Association (NSeSA) Division III state finals.

"With the addition of a League of Legends team being new for the 2023-24 academic year, we are very excited to have Ian joining the CCC esports team," said head coach Lucas Lumbra (pictured right). "Given his success at the NSeSA state finals, he will fit right into the winning culture that CCC esports has cultivated over our first year."

Hughes also participated in band, choir, football, one-act and wrestling for the Broncos.

Hughes will major in business administration at CCC. He is the son of Joshua and Stephanie Hughes of Pleasanton.
