Esports: Bi-Weekly Update, March 13-24

A recap of each match is below along with comments from CCC Esports head coach Lucas Lumbra.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 4v4

3-1 win vs. Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College (March 14)

3-1 win vs. Laramie County (Wyo.) Community College (March 21)

"Our Modern Warfare II team has been looking strong as we ramp up for playoffs over the next couple of weeks," said Lumbra. "Justice Silver from the Hastings Campus did a great job filling in off the bench in our win against Hutchinson. Despite dropping a Search and Destroy map in each of our last two series, we are confident it is something we will be able to address over the coming weeks. Our final match of the regular season is scheduled for March 28 against an undefeated Tallahassee Community College, which will have serious seeding implications for the playoffs."

Call of Duty: Cold War Gunfight 2v2

2-3 loss vs. Iowa Western Community College (March 16)

3-0 win vs. Hutchinson Community College (March 24)

"Despite an unfortunate reverse sweep loss last week against Iowa Western Community College, our Gunfight team is looking to finish strong after a swift win against Hutchinson, and a favorable matchup against winless Dawson Community College next week," Lumbra said. "With only one loss so far, CCC's Gunfight squad has sole possession of second place in the NJCAAe and is a favorite to make it to the national championship."

Rocket League

2-3 loss vs. Hutchinson Community College (March 15)

1-3 loss vs. Guilford (N.C.) Technical Community College (March 20)

"Rocket League has scuffled a bit over the last couple of weeks," said Lumbra. "An incredibly close matchup against Hutchinson went the distance with game 5 going to overtime. Unfortunately, they could not find the series-winning goal. Rocket League had a good showing against an undefeated Guilford Tech, but ultimately were not up to the task against a strong opponent. Rocket League will be looking to bounce back in its final match against State Technical College of Missouri. A win would clinch our third and final playoff spot for CCC Esports."

Standings update:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II 4v4 is 5-1 and in a two-way tie for third place in the NJCAAe.

Call of Duty: Cold War Gunfight 2v2 is 5-1 and in sole possession of second place in the NJCAAe.

Rocket League is 3-3 and in a two-way tie for 9th place in the NJCAAe.

"We have started streaming our matches online for anyone to watch," Lumbra said. "We plan on hosting broadcasts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting around 2 p.m. for the remainder of the regular season. We also hope to put together a stream schedule for all our playoff matches as well."
