Volleyball: NPCC Victorious Over CCC

The Central Community College volleyball team lost at North Platte Community College, 3-1, on Thursday night at North Platte Community College.

The Knights took the opening two sets by posting identical 25-20 scores. The Raiders prevented a sweep with a 25-19 win in the third game. NPCC surged in the fourth game and took the match with a 25-14 final.

Jordan Wegner led CCC in kills with 11, while Rylee Kwapnioski finished with 28 assists. Kamri Adler totaled 11 digs.

"We've hit a bit of a rough patch," said CCC head coach Abby Pollart. "Last night wasn't our best outing."

With the loss, the Raiders are 8-10 on the season having lost four consecutive matches.

CCC is off until next Friday when it takes part in the Cowley County Community College tournament in Kansas. The Raiders will meet Barton County Community college and Cowley County on opening day at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. On Saturday, CCC will battle Metropolitan Community College at 10 a.m. and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at 2 p.m.

"We have a great opportunity with a week off to get better," said Pollart. "There's still a lot of season left to build on."
