Women’s Soccer: Raiders-Rustlers Stalemate

The Central Community College women's soccer team battled Central Wyoming College to a scoreless tie in double overtime on Saturday at Raider Field.

CCC head coach Jamie Bennett described the game as frustrating, particularly on offense.

"In regulation, we probably had 70-percent possession, but we couldn't pull the trigger," said Bennett. "There were times that they had 10 people in the box defending and we just couldn't find the open person."

However, Bennett praised his team's defense, especially since Central Wyoming won at Southeast Community College, 5-0, the day before in Beatrice.

"Our defense did a good job," said Bennett. "Our midfield held them, and we had a lot of pressure in their attacking third, we just couldn't finish."

With the tie, the Raiders are 0-1-1 on the season.

Up next, CCC will host the College of St. Mary on Wednesday at Raider Field. Kickoff is set for 4:30 p.m.
