Women’s Soccer: Larks Defeat Raiders

The Central Community College women's soccer team lost to Hesston College, 1-0, on Wednesday at Raider Field.

The scoreboard was quiet until the 50th minute when Hesston's Torrence Gonzalez scored an unassisted goal, which turned out to the only goal of the game. CCC goalie Natalie Crouse logged seven saves.

"We really came out flat in our game," said CCC head coach Jamie Bennett. "I'm not sure if it was the 10 days off or a few players being unable to play, but we need to play a lot harder than we did to get the outcomes we want. Luckily, we have time to work on that so hopefully we can turn it around soon."

The loss drops CCC to 1-6.

Up next, the Raiders will host Allen County Community College on Saturday. The Red Devils are 6-2 on the season following a 6-2 win over Highland Community College on Wednesday. Saturday's kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Raider Field.
