Women’s Soccer: Raiders Remain Undefeated

The Central Community College women's soccer team improved to 3-0 with a 3-1 victory over York College JV on Tuesday in York.

The Raiders got on the board in the 25th minute when Isa Cisneros (pictured waving) scored her first goal of her CCC career off the assist of Kaylee Grieser (pictured right) for a 1-0 lead. Neither team was able to score for the rest of the half.

Grieser provided all of the CCC scores in the second half. Early on, she found the back of the net off the assist of Reagan Folda (pictured second from left) for a 2-0 lead. Grieser then scored in the 68th minute as she teamed up with Madison Hurst (pictured left) to extend the Raiders' lead to 3-0. The Panthers avoided the shutout when a goal in the 80th minute to make the score 3-1. The Raiders were able to run out the clock to post their third straight win to start the inaugural season.

"Overall, I am happy with the win and glad we are 3-0," said CCC head coach Jamie Bennett. "However, we didn't seem as mentally sharp as we usually are which meant we were not as physically sharp as we need to be. We can work on the things that didn't go well last night and be ready for next week."

CCC goalie Rachel Willette made six saves on the day, including a diving save on a penalty kick.

Up next, the Raiders will host Northeast Community College on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. It is the first of five straight home games.
