Women’s Basketball: Hawks Halt Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to Northeast Community College, 85-57, on Wednesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

The Hawks set the tone early with a 14-0 run in the first quarter and went on to lead the Raiders at the half, 44-29. In the second half, Northeast built its largest lead of the game at 34 points.

"Our effort wasn't very good," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "Maybe it was a lack of focus or maybe it was layover from the weekend, but we've got to do better."

Monica Brooks and Allanah Beller led the Raiders in scoring with 21 and 16 points, respectively.

CCC is 11-13 on the season.

Up next, the Raiders will travel to Southeast Community College on Saturday. CCC defeated the Lady Storm on Jan. 31, 62-56. Tip-off for Saturday's game is at 2 p.m.
