The Central Community College women's basketball team held on for a 62-57 home win over North Platte Community College on Saturday afternoon.
The contest was close through the first half and the Raiders led at halftime, 25-22. CCC moved ahead slightly in the third period by outscoring NPCC, 23-18. The Lady Knights responded by outscoring the Raiders, 17-14 in the fourth quarter, but the clock expired and CCC got the win.
Defensively, the Raiders outrebounded the Lady Knights, 47-32, and forced 20 turnovers.
"I am very proud of our team and the effort we had through the whole game," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We also did a good job on the defensive end to limit North Platte on second-chance points."
Monica Brooks led the Raiders with a double-double consisting of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Jasmine Williams scored 12 points, while Bailey Keller finished with 10 points.
CCC is now 8-10 on the season.
Up next, the Raiders will take on Peru State JV on Thursday in Peru. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
