Women’s Basketball: Raiders Lose to Indians

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to McCook Community College, 89-55, on Tuesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

A strong defense helped the Lady Indians build a 40-27 halftime lead, which continued through the second half.

Monica Brooks led three CCC players in double figures with 18 points. Jasmine Williams scored 14 points, while Isabel Diaz finished with 10 points.

"We started the game well, but we just could not keep it going throughout the whole game," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We need to get better at blocking out and doing the things that are in our control."

The loss gives the Raiders a 5-7 mark on the season.

Up next, CCC will take part in the SCC Holiday Classic in Beatrice on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Raiders will take on Kansas City Kansas Community College at 2 p.m. On Saturday at noon, CCC will meet the Greyhounds of Fort Scott Community College.
