Women’s Basketball: Raiders Win Third Straight

The Central Community College women's basketball team won at Little Priest Tribal College, 65-56, on Monday night in Winnebago.

The Raiders led 28-22 at the half before the Warriors moved ahead in the third quarter. CCC pulled away in the fourth period en route to the nine-point win.

Jasmine Williams led the Raiders in scoring with 16 points, while Isabel Diaz scored 15 points. Monica Brooks rounded out the double-digit scoring with 13 points.

"We did a good job fighting through some adversity and finishing the game strong," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "I'm proud of how we competed to the end."

The Raiders return to action this weekend at the Emerson Classic hosted by Marshalltown Community College. On Friday at 1 p.m. CCC will take on Iowa Lakes Community College. On Saturday, also at 1 p.m., the Raiders will meet Des Moines Area Community College. This will be the second meeting between CCC and DMACC in a week. Last Saturday, the Raiders defeated the Bears, 72-64, at the Ramada Classic at Raider Fieldhouse.
