The Central Community College women's basketball team opened the 2019-20 season with an 89-51 loss to Concordia University JV on Monday night.
The Raiders kept pace with the Bulldogs in the opening stanza, 15-11, before Concordia took off in the second period, 27-10, to take a 42-21 lead at the half. The third quarter was nearly identical to the second period as the Bulldogs outscored the Raiders, 29-14.
"We played a really good team," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We have a lot to work to do, but the effort was there."
Monica Books scored 13 points, while Isabel Diaz finished with a dozen points.
CCC will host the Ramada Classic this weekend at Raider Fieldhouse. On Friday, the Raiders will battle Midland University JV at 7 p.m. On Saturday, CCC will take on Des Moines Area Community College at 1 p.m.
