The Central Community College softball team hosted Northeast Community College for a pair of games yesterday. A recap of the games is below.
Game 1: Northeast 4 CCC 0
The Hawks built a 3-0 lead by the third inning while the Raiders were unable to get their offense going. Ava Steinke, Delaney Reeg, and Danica Taylor posted one hit apiece. Braelyn Sindelar started in the circle and allowed eight hits in six innings.
Game 2: CCC 11 Northeast 5
Northeast held a 1-0 lead after the first inning before the Raiders came to life in the second. Errors accounted for two runs, Reeg scored a run on a walk, Jordyn Trotta scored a run on a line out, and Kami Kaskie tripled, scoring two runs. When all was said and done, the Raiders led 6-1 after the second inning and CCC never looked back. Shayla Sullivan started in the circle and gave up 11 hits in seven innings. The Raiders had 11 team hits, Sindelar and Steinke both contributed two hits a piece. Kaskie led with three RBIs.
