Central Softball hosted McCook Community College for a pair of games yesterday. A recap of the double-header is below.
Game 1: McCook 11 CCC 1
The opener began as tightly contested game with the score tied at 1-1 after two innings. In the third, the Indians were able to extend their lead to 4-1. MCC continued its offensive blast three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings en route to the 10-point victory. CCC starting pitcher Shayla Sullivan allowed six hits in three innings. Relief pitcher Braelyn Sindelar surrendered seven hitsover three innings. Ava Steinke, Kami Kaskie, and Delaney Reeg each had one hit.
Game 2: McCook 10 CCC 1 (five innings)
Game two was nearly an identical repeat of game one. The Indians started out with three runs in the top of the first for a 3-0 lead. CCC's Kaskie's belted a homerun in the bottom of the first which accounted for CCC's only score. MCC scored five runs in the fourth and two in the fifth when the game was halted. Kaskie was the starting pitcher for the Raiders, allowing eight hits in three innings. She was relieved by Sindelar, who allowed six hits in two innings. CCC's Danica Taylor went two-for-two at the plate.
The Raiders are back in action against Northeast Community College at Raider Field tomorrow.
