Softball: SCC and Central Face-off in Region 9 Showdown
Central Softball went to Southeast Community College for a pair of road games on sunday, April 6th, a recap of the games is below:
 
Game 1: Central 6 Vs. Southeast 9
CCC got on the board in the first inning after Danica Taylor doubled, scoring two runs. Raiders added one run in the second thanks to a Jordyn Trotta double to center field on a full count, making the score 3-1. Southeast took the lead in the bottom of the third inning after two singles to center field and a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. CCC captured the lead, 6-4, in the top of the fourth after Haley Johnson walked, Hannah Dahlke laid down a sacrifice bunt, and Trotta hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. SCC tied the game in the bottom of the sixth thanks to a double and a walk. With the game tied at 6's, Southeast's Vanessa Butler hit a 3 run HR in the bottom of the 7th to end the game at 9-6 SCC. Braelyn Sindelar stepped in the circle first for the Raiders allowing 14 hits and nine runs (eight earned) over six and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Trotta and Taylor each drove in two runs and Delaney Reeg went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead CCC in hits.
 
Game 2: Central 0 Vs. Southeast 8
Southeast was able to jump on Central early here, scoring four runs in the first inning, and then adding three more in the third making the lead 7-0 very early. The Raiders were not able to battle back from this and ended with 3 hits on the game by Trotta, Ava Steinke and Johnson. Shayla Sullivan led things off in the circle for the Raiders and allowed nine hits and eight runs (six earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking two. 
 
The Raiders are back in action vs. Highland CC in Kansas.
