The Central Community College Raider Softball team played North Platte Community College and McCook Community College on Tuesday- Wednesday this week and a recap of the matches follows:
Game 1: Central 10 Vs. North Platte CC 6
This game was started with a two-run homer by Kami Kaskie in the top of the first, and another two two-run homer by Jordyn Trotta in the second. North Platte tied the game at fours going into the fifth inning. CCC outlasted North Platte down the stretch winning this one 10-6. Ava Steinke and Kaskie both had a pair of hits. The Raiders racked up seven walks to help contribute offensively. Shayla Sullivan started in the circle, allowing nine hits in seven innings, giving her the win.
Game 2: Central 19 Vs. North Platte CC 11
This high-scoring game began with CCC getting a commanding 10-1 lead by the top of the fourth inning. North Platte came storming back in the bottom of the fourth scoring 9 runs, tying the game. North Platte was able to score a run in the fifth taking a 1 run lead. In the final inning, the Raiders bats were hot scoring 9 runs on seven hits. The Raiders had 14 hits as a team, with Sindelar going 5-4 with four RBIs and two homeruns. Lily Krajewski also added a pair of hits. Sindelar started for CCC in the circle giving up nine hits in 3.2 innings and then Sullivan relieved giving up 7 hits in three innings.
Game 1: Central 0 Vs. McCook CC 10
The Raiders had trouble getting their footing in the matchups against McCook on Wednesday. Sullivan started in the circle, giving up 13 hits and eight earned runs in her five innings. Sindelar and Steinke contributed a hit a piece.
Game 2: Central 0 Vs. McCook CC 12
CCC wasn't able to flip the momentum of game one, McCook jumped on Central early in game two, scoring three early runs in the first, and five runs in the second. Sindelar started for the Raiders and allowed 11 hits in her four innings pitched. Steinke led the Raiders with one hit.
CCC Softball is back in action this weekend vs Southeast CC.
