Softball: Raiders and Hawks Divide Doubleheader

The Central Community College softball team faced off against Northeast CC yesterday in a doubleheader at Raider Field. A recap of each game is below.

Game 1: CCC 6  Northeast 2

The opener began with the Northeast Hawks taking an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first to set the tone. CCC flipped the momentum in the bottom of the third by scoring five runs on five hits to move ahead, 5-2. A double in the fourth from Braelyn Sindelar scored another for the Raiders, pushing the lead to 6-2. Sindelar started in the circle allowing nine hits in seven innings pitched, giving her the win. Sindelar was also the leading batter going three for three with two RBIs. Hannah Dahlke was also 2-2 at the plate with one walk.

Game 2: Northeast 6  CCC 4

The Hawks were able to control the first five innings to go up 6-0 at the top of the fifth. The Raiders started to pick away at that lead, getting one run in the fifth, two in the sixth and one more in the seventh, but the Hawks prevailed. Jordyn Trotta led the Raider bats with two hits in her three at bats while five other Raiders contributed to the seven hits. Shayla Sullivan led things off in the circle allowing eight hits over seven innings.

Next up for the Raiders, is a Thursday doublheader at Ellsworth Community College. Game times are set for 2 and 4 p.m.
