Game 1: CCC 7 Concordia JV 7
The Raiders built a 4-run lead in the second inning and then held off Concordia's charge for a 7-6 victory. The Bulldogs closed the gap by scoring on an error, a single, a triple and a single.
Jordyn Trotta led CCC with a pair of hits and three RBIs. Lily Krajewski was also able to contribute two RBIs herself while Danica Taylor and Ava Steinke each drove in one run. Scorers for CCC were Haley Johnson, Kami Kaskie, Braelyn Sindelar, Claire Kreutzer. Trotta led the scoring with three runs herself, one being a solo home run in the sixth.
Freshman Braelyn Sindelar started for the Raiders in the circle, pitching all seven innings and giving up six earned runs. The CCC defense gave up two errors in the win.
Game 2: Concordia JV 3 CCC 1
The nightcap started as a defensive battle, with no runs scored through six innings. In the seventh, a well hit ball from Concordia's Lillian Loghry broke the scorless tie and gave the Bulldogs the lead they needed to edge the Raiders, 3-1.
Jordyn Sheridan, Jordyn Trotta, and Haley Johnson each collected one hit apiece for CCC. Johnson led the Raides with one run batted in. CCC did not commit an error in the game.
Shayla Sullivan started the game in the circle for the Raiders, surrendering 10 hits and three earned runs over seven innings. She struck out six and surrendered only one walk.
With the split, the Raiders are 2-2 to start the season and are in action next at home vs Cloud County Community College at 1 and 3 p.m. on Feb. 28.
