Softball: Riffer Earns All-America Honors

Central Community College softball is pleased to announce that outfielder Caroline Riffer has been named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball All-America Third Team.

Riffer (pictured) tallied 57 stolen bases during the 2022 season, which placed her second in NJCAA Division II Softball. At the plate, she sported a .475 batting average with a .532 slugging percentage and a .512 on base percentage. Riffer totaled 75 hits, which placed her among the top 25 of NJCAA Division II batters. She was previously named as the Region 9 Freshman of the Year, placed on the All-Region 9 team and earned National Fastpitch Coaches Association Midwest Region Second Team honors.

"We knew early in the season that Caroline had the potential to land her name on an All-America team," said CCC head coach Caitlin Simon. "As a coach, you love to see this happen to a kid like Caroline who also gets in done in the classroom with a 4.0 GPA and is such a positive representative of CCC. We are lucky to have her back for one more year and excited to see what she continues to accomplish as a student-athlete."

Riffer was also recognized as CCC's Female Athlete of the Year for 2021-22.
