Softball: Raiders Blow Out Bobcats

The Central Community College softball team won both games of a double-header with Peru State University JV at the Raider Softball Complex on Wednesday.

The Raiders are 3-3 on the season.

A short recap of both games is below.


Game 1: CCC 8  Peru State JV 0

The Raiders belted seven runs in the fifth inning and went on to beat the Bobcats, 8-0. Morgan Pinkelman scored a pair of runs and recorded three RBIs. Lily Cast, who was the winning pitcher, and Grace Townsend each logged a pair of RBIs.


Game 2: CCC 26  Peru State JV 7

The Bobcats looked like they might get even with the Raiders early on as they scored seven runs in the top of the second inning for a 7-5 advantage. However, CCC erupted with five runs in the bottom of the second and eight runs each in the third and fourth innings for a 26-7 triumph. Cast and McKinley Josoff each belted a home run. Larisa Rother and Ragan Wood each scored four runs and Cast posted a team-high nine RBIs. The winning pitcher was Liberty Josoff, who now has a record of 1-1.
