Softball: Raiders Sign Hastings Pitcher

Central Community College softball is pleased to announce the signing of Elle Douglas, a senior at Hastings High School.

In 2019, Douglas (second from right) led the Tigers to their fifth consecutive Class B-5 district championship. She was the winning pitcher in both games of the championship series against Blair High School, sending HHS to the state tournament. As a senior, Douglas pitched 123.2 innings in 32 games, sported an ERA of 3.623 and recorded 78 strikeouts. At the plate, she maintained a .295 batting average, logged 28 RBIs and scored 13 runs.

"This is a huge signing for us," said CCC head coach Caitlin Simon (second from left). "We are getting a pitcher who comes from a really successful program. She was their go-to player definitely during her senior year and even in her junior year. She will bring a competitive edge and a lot of strength too."

Douglas was named All-Tribland by the Hastings Tribune during her junior campaign and All-Heartland Conference Honorable Mention by the Grand Island Independent as a senior. She also garnered honorable mention honors by the Omaha World Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star.

"I'm really excited," said Douglas after signing her letter of intent. "I really like the campus and the coach and I like the players."

Douglas will major in early childhood education at CCC. She is the daughter of Bryan (right) and Tracy (left) Douglas of Hastings.
