Central Community College softball is pleased to announce the signing of Nevaya Metcalfe, a senior utility player at Lakeview High School in Columbus.

Metcalfe (seated second from left) sported a .323 batting average as a senior and scored 26 runs. She also logged 15 stolen bases. Metcalfe was coach at Lakeview by Erica Zywiec (standing right).

"We think Nevaya will be a real strength for us on the bases with her speed," said CCC head coach Jack Gutierrez (standing left). "She is versatile enough to play the left side of the infield and also move to the outfield and run down fly balls."

Metcalfe will major in psychology at CCC. She is the daughter of Jason Metcalfe (seated second from right) and Amber Whitmore (seated left). Metcalfe's stepmother, Emile Metcalfe (seated right), also joined in at the signing.
