Men's Soccer: Late Goals Lift Raiders Over Bobcats

The Central Community College men's soccer team defeated Southeast Community College on Wednesday evening in Beatrice, 2-1.

In the first half, a defensive battle took place, with the score 0-0 at half. The Bobcats got the scoring started with a quick goal in the first 10 minutes of  the second half by Kyler Schell and assisted by Denari Watson. The goal seemed to wake up the Raiders, especially Jamie Zani, who scored two goals to end the match for the Raiders. These goals were assisted by Donovan Williams and Alfredo Fierro. Zani's two late goals lifted the Raiders over the Bobcats in a 2-1 win.

"We knew Southeast would come out firing," CCC head coach Luis Pulido said. "Our defense stood tall and kept them at bay early. In the second half, we started to create more chances and finally found the breakthrough with those two late goals."

The Raiders move to 8-5-1 and are in action at Neosho County (Kan.) Community College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
