The Central Community College men's soccer team defeated Western Iowa Tech, 1-2, on Tuesday afternoon.
The match started slow. Central's Goalie, Emiliano Garcia, stopped a penalty kick as soon as the game started to put the momentum on our side. Arlo Stone then got the scoring started with a goal assisted by Archie Johnstone 28 minutes into the match.
Shortly after the Raiders took the lead, Jackson Twizerimana had a goal you had to SEE to BELIEVE. To move the Raiders up 2-0, Jackson scored a SICK bicycle goal assisted by Antonio Merola and Arlo Stone (posted on the CCC Raiders X Account and MSOC X Account).
The 2nd half was a defensive battle, with Raiders scoring 0 and W.I.T. scoring 1. Even with less than 40% ball control and less shots, Raiders sneak out the 2-1 win.
Coach Luis Pulido said, "It was a great team effort as WIT is a good team. We had various players contributing to the team's win with big plays as well."
Raiders move to 3-0 on the season.
