Men’s Soccer: Raiders Sign Silverio

Central Community College men's soccer is pleased to announce the signing of Rafael Silverio, a 2020 graduate of Layton Christian Academy in Utah.

A native of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Silvero helped lead the Eagles to the Utah Class 2A championship in 2019. In addition to being named State MVP, he made First Team All-State and was nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year Award. During his junior campaign, Silverio scored 26 goals and logged a dozen assists. Due to the COVID pandemic, he only played in five games as a senior but still managed to score 15 goals and recorded six assists.

"Rafael will immediately be a leader for us on and off the field," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. "During his high school career, he proved that he is a winner and big-time goal scorer by leading his team to a state championship and being nominated for Gatorade Player of the Year in Utah. I am really excited to get him on campus and see the impact that he will have on the team and campus community."

Silverio will be an academic transfer major at CCC. He is the son of Ubiratan Lage and Allessandra Leite of Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
