Men’s Soccer: Raiders Rout Rustlers

The Central Community College men's soccer team shutout Central Wyoming College, 5-0, on Saturday at the Raider Soccer Complex.

Jeremiah Vidale commenced the scoring five minutes into the contest when he teamed up with Ethan Bonaparte on the assists for a 1-0 CCC lead. In the 22nd minute, Kyle Thomas put the Raiders up 2-0 on an unassisted goal. CCC closed out the first-half scoring when Luis Tovar logged an unassisted goal in the 34th minute to push the Raiders lead to 3-0.

The next CCC score came in the 78th minute when Anthony Bolanos found the back of the net off the assist of David Jiminez to give the Raiders a 4-0 advantage. The Vidale-Bonaparte combination provided the final goal of the day in the 86th minute for the 5-0 victory.

CCC goalies Joao Victor and Chris Adame teamed up for four saves.

"That was a great team effort," said CCC head coach Hawken Hanna. "We took 36 shots and I am happy that we were able to create that many opportunities."

The win gives the Raiders a season mark of 6-2-1.

CCC returns to the pitch on Friday with a road contest at Northeastern Junior College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time.
