Soccer: CCC Wins Big in Dedicatory Game

Freshman Peterson Costa scored a game-high three goals as the Central Community College men's soccer team defeated York JV, 7-2.

The contest was played at CCC's new on-campus athletic complex. Prior to the opening kick, ribbon-cutting ceremonies were held with Raiders athletic director Jack Gutierrez doing the honors (pictured).

The visiting panthers scored the first two goals of the game during the first half, which were unanswered by the Raiders. York held a 2-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, CCC exploded with seven goals. Peterson Costa scored three goals, while Marcus Horwood recorded two goals. Jesus Adame and Edgar Romero each scored their first collegiate goals.

The win gives the Raiders a 5-2-2 mark heading into Friday's home game against Northeastern Junior College. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
