Golf: Raiders Compete in Stacked Field

The Central Community College golf team was in action this week Wednesday and Thursday in Lincoln for the Blue River Classic.

This was a 54-hole event at Highlands Golf Club hosted by Doane University and Concordia University. Indian Hills CC won the event at 32 under par with the Raiders placing 15th.

The CCC varsity lineup consisted of Jude Elgert, Spencer Knispel, Colby Sorensen, Jack Edwards and Creek Kennedy

The Raiders improved their team score round-to-round, going from 34 over first round and 28 over last round. Freshman Spencer Knispel carded a team-low 23rd place out of a stacked 84-man field.

"I thought this was a great tournament for growth. Our final placing wasn't great, but I saw progress made," said CCC head coach Same Elgert. "We have more work to do, but we know what we need to improve before our next event."

Raiders golf returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Elks Country Club in the Central/Southeast Dual. Tee time is at 10 a.m.
