Men’s Basketball: Storm Holds Off Raiders

The Central Community College men's basketball team lost at Southeast Community College, 69-59, on Saturday in Beatrice.

The first half was close with the Storm holding a 30-29 lead at halftime. The Storm went on a scoring run to open the second half which provided the necessary cushion for the 10-point win.

"I thought for the most part we played well defensively and made them take the shots we wanted them to take," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "We played well enough defensively to win the game, but didn't hit enough shots on the other end to get the job done."

Trey Deveaux led CCC in scoring with 15 points while Preston Thomas scored 10 points off the bench. Derek Merwick pulled down 11 rebounds.

With the loss, the Raiders are 13-7 on the season. Up next, CCC will host Doane University JV on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. at the Raider Fieldhouse.
