Men's Basketball: Crawford Nationally Recognized

Central Community College sophomore guard Tre'vion Crawford has been named as the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Division II Basketball Player of the Week.

During the week of Dec. 2-Dec. 8, Crawford averaged 31 points over three games and shot 55.6 percent (15-27) from three-point range. In Friday's loss to Highland (Kan.) Community College at the SCC Holiday Classic, he scored 38 points, 27 of which came from beyond the arc.

"I'm really happy for Tre," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "We need him to score at a high level for us to be successful and he did that in three very competitive games. It is not only a credit to Tre, but to his teammates for recognizing that he had it going and getting him the ball. Both Tre and our team are very deserving of this honor and recognition."

The Raiders are 9-7 on the season and will return to action on Wednesday, Jan 8, at Northeast Community College. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
