The Central Community College men's basketball team defeated Concordia University JV, 89-68, on Tuesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.
The Raiders scored early and often as they built a 52-32 lead at halftime. In the second half, CCC led by as many as 29 points. The Raiders shot 40 percent (35-87) from the floor and 27 percent (9-33) from three-point range.
Defensively, the Raiders commanded the glass as they hauled in 64 rebounds to Concordia's 45. The rebounding edge was a big factor in the CCC's 22 second-chance points. The Raiders held the Bulldogs to 33 percent (26-78) from the floor and 19 percent (5-26) from three-point range.
"We did a good job of getting out in transition," said CCC head coach John Ritzdorf. "I thought we shared the ball early, but a big part of that is how we played on the defensive end. We contested their shooters and we knew it was a team full of shooters."
Tre'vion Crawford led all scorers with 25 points, while Nathan Frost added 22 points. Dwight Glover (Pictured #15) scored 13 points off the bench and Roman Behrens logged a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.
The 21-point win is the third consecutive for the Raiders, which boosts their record to 6-2.
CCC returns to the floor on Friday at the Great Western Shootout in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The Raiders will take on North Iowa Area Community College at 3 p.m.
