Northeast Claims Victory Over CCC
Vance Johnson scored a team-high 18 points to lead the Hawks to a 91-75 win over the Raiders on Wednesday night in Norfolk.
The first half was an even battle as Northeast led 38-37 at halftime. In the second half, the Hawks took off and the Raiders were unable to keep up.
"I thought we played an excellent first half. We rebounded well despite giving up several inches at most positions," said CCC head coach Jerry Drymon. "However, we had too many turnovers and had a stretch in the second half of poor plays that cost us."
CCC's Marco Fabietti scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Raiders, while Logan Fleming scored 12 points. Ruben Fuamba had a solid night on the glass as he hauled in a dozen rebounds.
The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Raiders and gives them a 15-10 mark on the season. Up next, CCC travels to Southeast Community College on Saturday in Beatrice. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.
