eSports: Regular Season Complete, Regionals Upcoming

Call of Duty: MW3 4v4 – Our 4v4 squad finished the regular season 7-0, recording an awesome combined 21-2 map count across all matches. With the #1 seed in our region, we faced (4) MSU-WP in the first round of playoffs on Tuesday (19th), recording a dominant 3-0 victory. Map scores: 250-31, 6-0, 3-0. With this win, we move on to the regional championship match against (2) Dallas College North Lake, which will take place on December 3rd. With a guaranteed top 2 finish in our region, we qualify for the national tournament, beginning December 10th.

Call of Duty: MW3 Gunfight – Caleb and Jackson finished our regular season 14-1, including multiple incredibly close match wins and an unfortunate 2-3 loss to ICCC in week 6. This record was enough to secure the #2 seed in our regional playoff, seeing the group face off against Hinds CC in yesterday's first round. In the win-or-go-home matchup, we took the series 3-0, and moved on to the regional semifinals. Map scores vs Hinds CC: 6-3, 6-5, 6-3. The regional semifinal match, which took place immediately after our quarterfinal win, saw us matched up against a strong Barton CC, and we ultimately feel in straight maps. Map scores vs Barton CC: 4-6, 4-6, 5-6. A 3rd place regional match will be played December 5th, we are set to take on Marshalltown CC at 6pm CT. Despite the loss, a guaranteed top 4 finish in our region will net us a spot in the national tournament, beginning December 11th.

Rocket League – Our RL squad successfully qualified for our regional playoff for the first time since last fall. A final 9-6 record was enough to secure the #7 seed in the region, and we look to keep the season alive tonight in the regional playoff. We kick off at 6pm CT against (2) Salt Lake CC. The double-elim bracket will ultimately work its way down to three remaining teams by the end of tonight. A top 4 finish in the regional playoff will be required for us to qualify for the national tournament, beginning December 8th.
