The Central Community College Shotgun team headed down to San Antonio, TX this past week to compete in the 2025 ACUI/SCTP Collegiate Clay Target Championships. CCC Competed across six events—Trap, Trap Doubles, Skeet, Skeet Doubles, Sporting Clays, and Super Sporting— where they went toe-to-toe with seasoned collegiate programs. Their High Overall (HOA) score of 2548 out of 3000 earned them 6th out of 7 teams in Division 4—not the top finish they'd hoped for, but a phenomenal effort for a rookie squad.
Starting in September, this team faced a steep learning curve. 90% of our shooters had only seen one of these six events before joining, making their Nationals debut a big leap. First-year nerves added to the challenge, shaking their focus at some of the events. Still, they stood their ground against dozens of experienced teams, showing they've got the talent to grow from here.
Head coach Michael Saint said, "The 2025 ACUI/SCTP Nationals wasn't a flawless run, but it was a solid starting point. We didn't hit every mark we aimed for, but our determination and drive showed. Our first Nationals are behind us now, and it's time to look forward to next season."
