
The Central Community College shotgun sports team had its inaugural event. The team competed in the Tiger 450 in Hays, Kan. in six events across two days. These events were trap, trap doubles, doubles skeet, sporting clays, and super sporting clays.
The Raiders best event was trap, with a team score of 472/500, placing them seventh of the 12 schools. CCC's top five trap shooters were Nick Brodsky (99/100), Austin Holtzen (97/100), Dalton Sinsel (93/100), Bryce Schuster (92/100) and Schyler Schwisow (91/100).
Overall, Nick Brodsky was CCC's high scorer, shooting a 380/450. The team's high overall total for the shoot was 1785. CCC's other top shooters were Sinsel (372/450), Schuster (351/450), Amy Tonniges (345/450), and Everett Schuler (337/450).
The Raiders were 11th of 12 teams overall and fifth of six community colleges that participated.
"For your very first shoot, it's all about gaining experience and learning," said Michael Saint, CCC head coach. "Our athletes learned a ton this weekend and now we will apply that in practice and make improvements."
The Raiders are back in action this weekend at the Prairie Circuit Conference event.
