Volleyball: CCC Falls to UNK JV

The Central Community College volleyball team lost to the University of Nebraska-Kearney JV on Wednesday night, 3-1, at Raider Fieldhouse.

The Raiders opened the match with a 25-17 victory in the first set, while the Lopers evened it up with a 25-20 win in the second set. UNK took the match with triumphs of 25-13 and 25-12 in the third and fourth game.

Jordan Wegner led CCC in kills with nine. Rylee Kwapnioski totaled 32 assists, while Kamri Adler finished with 20 digs.

The loss gives the Raiders a season mark of 17-17.

Wednesday's match was the final regular season home match for eight sophomores (pictured). Shania Borchers, Mallory Gotschall, Katelynn Halstead, Kwapnioski, Abbe Mancuso, Lydia Permenter, Susie Vavra and Maddie Walkowiak were recognized before the contest and given commemorative plaques by CCC head coach Abby Pollart.

Up next, CCC will close out the season with a road venture at Des Moines Area Community College on Friday night. The match starts at 5:30 p.m.
