Volleyball: Ramada Classic Recap

The Central Community College volleyball team went 3-1 at the Ramada Classic at Raider Fieldhouse. A brief recap of each match is below. The Raiders are now 13-14 on the season. CCC is back at Raider Fieldhouse on Wednesday to host McCook Community College. The match starts at 7 p.m.

Match 1 vs. Bismarck State College

The Raiders defeated the Mystics in the opening round, 3-1. Bismarck took the opening game, 25-20, before CCC won the final three – 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21.

Lydia Permenter recorded 19 kills, while Abbe Mancuso and Jordan Wegner tallied 14 and 13, respectively. Rylee Kwapnioski dished out 28 assists, while Kamri Adler finished with a team-high 30 digs.

Match 2 vs. Kansas City Kansas Community College

The Raiders went a full five games with the Blue Devils before claiming a 3-2 victory. KCKCC opened the contest with a 28-26 win, followed by CCC getting even with a 25-16 triumph in the second game. The Blue Devils won the third set, 25-21, and the Raiders answered right back with a 25-14 victory in the fourth set. In the final game, CCC gutted out a 17-15 final to take the match.

Wegner made 19 kills, while Katelynn Halstead made 13 and Macuso added a dozen. Kwapnioski logged 61 assists, while Permenter totaled 32 digs.

Match 3 vs. Butler Community College

The Grizzlies handed the Raiders their only loss of the weekend with a 3-0 sweep. The final scores read 25-14, 25-23 and 25-22.

Halstead, Mancuso, Permenter and Wegner each recorded six kills. Kwapnioski finished with 29 assistes, while Adler and Permenter each tallied 13 digs.

Match 4 vs. Southwestern Community College

CCC closed out its own Ramada Classic with a sweep of the Spartans. The final scores were 25-13, 25-19 and 25-13.

Shania Borchers made 13 kills, while Kwapnioski finished with 46 assists. Adler led the Raiders in digs with 19.
