Volleyball: CCC Falls Twice In Triangular

The Central Community College volleyball team lost to Indian Hills Community College, 3-0, followed by a 3-2 loss to Northeast Community College in a triangular at Raider Fieldhouse.

The Warriors defeated the Raiders 25-22, 25-19 and 25-15.

Maddie Walkowiak led the Raiders in kills with 10, while Rylee Kwapnioski dished out 24 assists. Devy Erickson logged five digs, while Shania Borchers finished with two blocks.

The Warriors then defeated Northeast Community College, 3-1.

CCC returned to the floor to take on Northeast and the Hawks were victorious in five sets.

The Raiders took the opening set, 25-19, followed by the Hawks taking the second set, 25-23. CCC regained the lead with a 25-22 win in the third game, to which Northeast evened the match with a 27-25 triumph in the fourth set. The Hawks won the match with a 15-9 decision in the decisive fifth set.

Walkowiak posted 14 kills, while Kwapnioski finished with 34 assists. Kamri Adler tallied 28 assists. As a team, the Raiders totaled 16 blocks.

With the split, CCC is now 8-8 on the season.

The Raiders return to action on Wednesday with a road contest at McCook Community College. The match begins at 7 p.m.
