Volleyball: Familiar Name Signs With Raiders

Central Community College volleyball is pleased to announce the signing of Central Valley High School senior outside hitter Devyn Erickson.

Erickson recorded 264 kills, 296 digs and 36 aces during her senior campaign while sporting a .197 hitting percentage. She earned all-conference honors following the season. Erickson also plays basketball for the Cougars and is a member of the track team.

Devyn is the third Erickson to play for the Raiders. Her sister, Darian, was a setter for CCC volleyball in 2011 and 2012 and led the Raiders to a sixth and fifth place national finish, respectively. Darian was an All-Region IX player. Devyn's other sister, Skyler, was an outside hitter for the Raiders in 2013 and 2014 and earned both NJCAA and AVCA All-America honors. Skyler led the Raiders to a seventh and fifth place finish at the national tournament, respectively.

"I am really thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the Raider volleyball team," said Erickson. "I've been lucky enough to see two of my older sisters play for Coach (Mary) Young and I couldn't be more excited to do the same."

Young is thrilled to see the Erickson legacy continue at CCC.

"We are so excited for Devyn to become a Raider," said Young. "She is a great all-around player with strong ball control skills that will really help our team."

Erickson will major in social work at CCC. She is the daughter of Darin Erickson and Marci Erickson.
