Volleyball: Raiders Calm The Storm

The Central Community College volleyball team swept Southeast Community College, 3-0, on Wednesday night at Raider Fieldhouse.

The final scores were 25-22, 25-12, 25-9.

Katelynn Halstead led CCC in kills with 10, while Rylee Kwapnioski handed out 31 assists. Jacie Laetsch totaled 15 digs.

"We started off the match not playing our cleanest volleyball, but we refocused well and took control in the second and third sets," said CCC head coach Mary Young. "Our passing really dictated our offense and we were much more efficient all the way around. This was a good way to start off region play and I'm pleased with the improvements we continue to see with our team."

The win gives the Raiders a 9-6 mark on the season.

CCC returns to action on Friday with a road venture to Iowa Western Community College. The Raiders and the Reivers will meet at 7 p.m. at Reiver Arena.
