Women’s Soccer: Raiders Rebound Against Panthers

The Central Community College women's soccer team snapped a two-game slide with a 2-1 home win over York College JV on Monday.

The visiting Panthers provided the only goal of the first half with a goal in the 25th minute.

Three minutes into the second half, CCC's Kaylee Grieser (pictured right) scored her team-best fourth goal of the season on an unassisted goal to even the score at 1-1. CCC's Madison Hurst then scored the game-winning goal in the 55th minute off the assist of Mei Hou (pictured left) to go up 2-1. The Raiders were able to run out clock to improve to 4-2.

"We really played an uninspired first half and let York get one shot off and they scored," said CCC head coach Jamie Bennett. "We came together at halftime and really outplayed York in the second half by outshooting the Panthers 14-0."

The Raiders are off until Friday afternoon when they host Northwest College at the Raider Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.
