Women’s Basketball: Great Western Shootout Recap

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost both games at the Great Western Shootout at Iowa Central Community College. A recap of both games is below. The 4-5 Raiders will return home on Tuesday night against Midland University JV. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. at Raider Fieldhouse.

Game 1 vs. North Iowa Area Community College

The Tritons made 17 three-point baskets in a 92-39 win over the Raiders in the opening round of the Great Western Shootout. Defensively, NIACC held CCC to 14 points in the first half.

Isabel Diaz led the Raiders in scoring with 16 points, while Jasmine Williams posted 11 points.

Game 2 vs. Iowa Central Community College

The Tritons won a close game over the Raiders, 65-56. CCC led 31-28 at the half, but ICCC outscored the Raiders by 12 points in the final two quarters to take the victory.

CCC's Monica Brooks logged a double-double with 23 points and a dozen rebounds. Jasmine Williams chipped in 10 points.

"This weekend, the team did a good job of competing and staying together as a team," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We played some tough competition and we got better."
