Women's Basketball: CCC Signs Texas Guard

Central Community College women's basketball is pleased to announce the signing of Sydni Whitted, a 2019 graduate of Silsbee High School in Silsbee, Tex.

Whitted helped lead the Tigers to the 4A regional semifinals of the University Interscholastic League tournament and a 24-7 record. She also participated in cross country and cheerleading.

"I'm honored to become a part of such a great program where I get to continue playing the game I love," said Whitted, who is a shooting guard.

Whitted earned all-district honorable mention and was named academic all-state for three years.

"I have heard nothing but great things about Sydni, but one thing that stuck out from all my conversations is how hard she plays," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "Sydni will be a great asset with her work ethic and competing at a high level. She is going to help us on the offensive end with spreading the floor out and she will be a huge contributor on the defensive end."

Whitted will major in nursing at CCC. She is the daughter of John Whitted and Jimmie and Tanya Avera.
