Women’s Basketball: Sophomore Night Victory

All five starters scored in double figures as the Raiders ran past the Lady Storm, 79-68, at Raider Fieldhouse on Monday night.

Prior to the game, sophomores Maddie Davis (left), Day zchay lon Gardner (center) and Alexis Ramaekers (right) were recognized.

CCC led at the end of the first quarter, 17-8, before posting a 35-30 halftime advantage. The Raiders then outscored the Lady Storm, 23-14, in the third quarter and was able to hold on for the win.

"It was a great night," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We played the best team ball we have played all year. I am very proud of the entire team and it was a great way to honor our sophomores on sophomore night."

Davis led the CCC scoring charge with 18 points, while Gardner scored 15 points. Ramaekers recorded a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Isabel Diaz finished with a dozen points, while Monica Brooks also logged a double double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

The win gives the Raiders a three-game winning streak and a 10-13 mark on the season.

CCC will close out the regular season on Wednesday night at McCook Community College. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m.
