Women’s Basketball: CCC Wins Second Straight

Day zchay lon Gardner led all scorers with 23 points to lead the Raiders to a 72-65 win over the visiting Knights.

The first half was close throughout and CCC led by two at halftime, 30-28. The Raiders outscored the Knights in the third quarter, 20-14, which turned out to be the final margin as NPCC came up short.

"The girls did a great job just staying the course and playing together as a team," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We did a good job of controlling the tempo of the game and stopping their runs in the third quarter. It was a great team win and everyone did a great job executing the game plan."

Monica Brooks and Alexis Ramaekers also scored in double figures, with Brooks scoring 15 points and Ramaekers 13 points.

With the win, CCC has won four out of the last five games. The Raiders are 9-13 on the season.

CCC is back in action on Monday with a road venture to McCook Community College. The Raiders are looking to avenge an 81-57 Indians win in November. Monday night's tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
