Women’s Basketball: Hawks Fly Past Raiders

The Central Community College women's basketball team lost to Northeast Community College, 66-52, at Raider Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.

The Raiders trailed 32-30 at halftime and the Hawks were able to outscore CCC by six points in each of the two final quarters.

"I was proud of the team on how focus we were for the game," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "We did a good job with ball movement, rebounding and controlling the tempo of the game for three quarters. It was a good effort, but we still have a lot more work to do."

Alexis Ramaekers led three CCC players in double figures with 17 points. Monica Brooks recorded a double-double with a dozen points and a dozen rebounds. Day zchay lon Gardner also scored 12 points.

With the loss, the Raiders are now 5-11 on the season.

Up next, CCC will take on Mount Marty JV on Friday night in Yankton, S.D. The Lancers are 3-8. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
