Women’s Basketball: Raiders Make It Two In A Row

Lexie Bacon and Payton Blanke each scored 24 points to lead the Central Community College women's basketball team to a 76-67 win over Midland University JV. Blanke also had 19 rebounds to record the double-double in front of the home crowd at Raider Fieldhouse.

The Vikings held a 40-38 halftime lead and then the Raiders clamped down on defense, holding Midland to 13 and 14 points, respectively, in the third and fourth quarters.

"Our team did a great job last night on the boards and playing solid defense," said CCC head coach Billy Perkins. "It was a great game and the girls did a good job staying together and playing hard on both ends of the floor. I am very proud of all seven girls and how they have continued to believe in each other and stay together."

Maddy Wolfe also scored in double figures with 14 points. Paxton Throne hauled in 11 rebounds.

With the win, the Raiders have won two straight and are now 5-13 overall.

Up next, CCC will host Hastings College JV on Thursday night at Raider Fieldhouse. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
