The Central Community College women's basketball team lost its first round game of the Holiday Classic in Beatrice to Highland Community College, 92-49.

The Scotties held the Raiders to nine points in each of the first two quarters for a 40-18 halftime lead. HCC's defense forced 26 CCC turnovers, which led to 40 points.

One CCC player finished with double-digit scoring as Payton Blanke netted 11 points.

The loss drops the Raiders to 3-9.

CCC will meet Fort Scott Community College in second-round action of the Holiday Classic. The Raiders and the Greyhounds will tip it off at 12 noon on Saturday.
