Raiders Outlast Knights

Central Community College held on for an 82-80 win over North Platte Community College on Friday night, which snapped a three-game losing streak. The win gives the Raiders a mark of 12-14, while the Knights drop to a mark of 9-17.

NPCC opened the game by outscoring CCC in the first quarter, 28-23, before the Raiders battled back to trail at the half, 42-41. In the second half, CCC was down by as many as seven points, but they battled back and outlasted NPCC by a bucket.

"It was a back-and-forth game," said CCC head coach Mike Kroupa. "I thought the ladies did a good job of staying focused. We had some big stops and knocked down some big free throws."

Each team sported two players with double-doubles. For the Raiders, Teisha Snyder scored a game-high 23 points and hauled in a game-high 15 rebounds, while Payton Blanke scored 16 points and pulled down 10 boards.

For the Knights, Jessica Lovitt scored a team-high 17 points and hauled in 10 rebounds, while Mai'Zhrae Zeno scored a dozen points and captured a team-high 14-rebounds.

CCC will return to Raider Fieldhouse on Tuesday to host Little Priest Tribal College in a second meeting this season. The Raiders and the Warriors met back on Feb. 1 in Wahoo, with CCC taking a 96-56 victory. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
